Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the most commonly asked questions from our regular customers and other enquirers:

Must I have an HTML compatible email client in order to receive the reports?
The HTML version is far more presentable, as it also displays the results in chart format. When you subscribe you can ask to receive the reports in plain text rather than HTML format.

Can I access my report if I am away from my usual email?
Yes. When you subscribe, you are given a username and password that grants you entry to the customer area of our website. You can return as often as you like to view the current report.

Can statMetrix report on certain industries and/or countries?
We acknowledge that many clients have specific requirements. Therefore, we can provide targeted reports that offer you the option of particular industry sectors and countries. Click Here for more info.

Can statMetrix report on a greater number of generic usage terms?
If the current list of items reported is insufficient for your needs, please contact us and we can consider including further usage terms.

Why do I need statMetrix - I have my own site statistics?
The man-hours spent analysing your own stats each month, rather than receiving our reports directly, are very uneconomical. Furthermore, individual site statistics are reflective of a particular site's usage, and are often out of sync with the general trends. Finally, they don't cover all the items included in our reports, so you would be missing some very relevant information.

Where is all the research data sourced from?
Much of the data we provide is gathered from third party providers, such as Nielsen Net Ratings, Gartner, Forrester, Yahoo!, Google, and others. Our research team uses these as a benchmark for our own data to ensure you receive accurate, up to date information.

Is your question not here? Then contact us and we will answer your query directly.
